Our Heavenly Father, the creator of all things has the ability to create through word alone. He could have easily created his son, Jesus as he created the first man, Adam, without any human assistance. But God insisted on his son having a mother. And the woman he chose would be a woman of great humility, great faith, great wisdom and great strength so she could not only mother Jesus’ humanness, but also his divinity revealed on Earth.
In Mary, God found a mother to love him, support him, encourage him, nourish him, shelter him, care for him, teach him and even protect him. Through Mary’s willingness to accept God’s grace, she became the vessel for us to experience divine love and eternal life through Jesus.
Mother Mary was able to nurture the light within Jesus to shine so bright that all the world could see that through her son Jesus, we could experience peace on Earth, joy all over the world, love with no bounds and the wonder and hope of eternal life. It is what God calls each of us to do for our own children.
Just as God sent us his Good News through Jesus, he also sent us a message through Mother Mary – God desires us to be His co-creators. God can enter into each of us humans to bring goodness, miracles and new life if we are only as willing and open to accept him into our hearts as Mother Mary did for Jesus.
We need a father to create us, and a mother to give us life.
It is therefore our calling to become holy and pure hearted and live God’s will in our thoughts, our words and our deeds just as Mother Mary did to bring Heaven to Earth.
Thank you Lord, for the blessings of Mother Mary as a mother and a model of how to create a holy space within us for Jesus to reside and how to nurture the light of Christ to shine brightly and bring peace and joy and love so we can all live on earth as it is in heaven once again.
May in this New Year, we commit our hearts, our minds and our spirits to being as Mother Mary and accepting God’s grace so that God may use us as co-creators and vessels of His Holy love and hope and joy.
